The New York Mets are set to begin their 2026 season with the addition of right fielder Carson Benge, a top prospect who was drafted 19th overall in 2024. Benge will be the starting right fielder for the season, playing against Pirates ace Paul Skenes. Other new faces in the team include Bo Bichette, Jorge Polanco, Luis Robert Jr. and Marcus Semien. Bige, who made three stops in the minors last season, is ranked seventh in National League Rookie of the Year odds.
