Friending, a new social utility app, is set to launch in 2026 to help adults form genuine, in-person friendships. The app, founded by Gabor Kadas and Zsolt Sasdi, aims to address the issue of social isolation, which affects one in every six people in the US. It offers built-in identity verification to provide a safer, interest-based way for people to meet in real life. The company will initially focus on user growth in densely populated cities to accelerate community formation. The longer term, Friending will integrate with emerging “speed friending” event organizers through a companion interface to verify through the app. The platform will also include a built in safety alert feature if users feel uncomfortable during a meetup.
