The Nets are on a nine-game losing streak, with a 124-98 loss to Miami, marking the start of their season with a lacklustre performance. The Nets, known as the coldest team in the NBA, were defeated by the Heat in front of a sellout crowd of 19,700 at Kaseya Center. Despite a day off before facing the Heat, Nets coach Jordi Fernández said he wanted to see them ready to fight against a top four defensive team, Miami. The team's performance was largely lacking, with Brooklyn shooting 38.4 percent and 6-for-32 from deep, committing 18 turnovers and being outscored 20-11 off these giveaways. Despite this, the Heat's Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro led the scoring with 23 points, nine rebounds and six steals respectively. Despite the loss, the Nets moved into a tie for second in the lottery standings.
