The Parade of Hearts '150 United' event took place at the Overland Park Convention Center in Kansas City on Saturday. Each of the 150 sculptures was designed by a local “Heartist” and each artist received a $2,500 stipend, representing a $375,000 direct investment in the regional arts and creative economy. The event's footprint stretches across over 60 cities and two states. The hearts are designed to represent Kansas City's identity as a global and soccer player. For the first time, organizers are revealing every location upfront so people can map their route before the hearts hit the streets.
