Hollywood stars, physicians, policy experts, and organizations have signed an open letter calling for the closure of the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in Texas. The facility, which houses hundreds of children, teenagers, and their parents, has been criticized for its dehumanizing conditions. The celebrities are urging the federal government and private prison operator CoreCivic to return children and their families to their homes and communities. The petition supporting the letter has over 12,700 signatures. It supports the efforts of popular children's educator Ms. Rachel, who has been lobbying for closure of ICE's notorious family detention center.
