San Diego County swelters under record heat wave

San Diego County is experiencing a record-setting heat wave, with temperatures running 20 to 25 degrees above average. The National Weather Service predicts that daily record highs will be broken in several locations. A return of onshore flow is expected over the weekend, but temperatures are expected to remain above average for the remainder of the year. A heat advisory remains in effect for coastal and valley communities.
