Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.) has accused Democrats of running the party out of respect for President Trump, citing the "Trump derangement syndrome" (TDS), a term that refers to an inability to find positives in President Trump's actions. Fettermen, who supports the joint U.S.-Israeli military operation in Iran, said that the party is "governed by the TDS" and that it is "entirely appropriate" to hold the former Iranian regime accountable for its actions. He also criticized the party for being too rigid about solidarity with Israel, stating that it's not a big deal if a Democrat Senate candidate from Maine has a Nazi SS tattoo.
