The Department of Defense (DoD) has released a report in 2024 stating that there is no evidence that the U.S. government is involved in Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), or UFOs. The report contradicts the testimony of "whistleblower" Dave Grusch, who claimed to have been made aware of a multi-decade UAP crash retrieval and reverse engineering program, which was never substantiated. This report suggests plausible explanations for Grush's testimony. Josef Allen Hynek, who was once a skeptic, became involved in UFOs after becoming a director of Ohio State University's physics and astronomy department. He has since evolved into a leading UFO advocate, advocating for the existence of extraterrestrial visitors.
