OpenAI presses for investigation of Musk ‘anti-competitive behavior’ ahead of trial

OpenAI is urging the attorneys general of California and Delaware to investigate Elon Musk's "improper and anti-competitive behavior" regarding the AI firm's corporate restructuring. This comes ahead of Musk's case against OpenAI, which is set to go to trial. OpenAI was founded as a nonprofit in 2015 and later added a for-profit arm in 2019. The company altered its structure in October to convert it into a public benefit corporation that remained under control of the nonprofit. However, it initially attempted to shift to a fully-for-profit structure and remove the nonprofit’s control, but abandoned this plan in May. The case is seeking $100 billion in damages from OpenAI's nonprofit.
