St. Pete Officer Fired For Losing Gun, Ammo, Taser: Police

A St. Petersburg police officer, Officer Ramon Ortega, has been fired for losing his police duty belt, which contained his gun, ammunition, holster, Taser and other items last year. The police found the belt behind a store in the Pasco County, Florida, on Dec. 31. Ortegan was found guilty of multiple violations of city and department policies, including negligent loss or damage of department property, improper procedures, and a chronic offender of the code of conduct.
