Health officials confirm measles case in Las Vegas convention attendee

The Southern Nevada Health District has confirmed a confirmed case of measles in a recent Las Vegas convention attendee. The individual attended the ConExpo on March 6 and 7 and was infectious throughout this period. The disease can remain in the air for up to two hours after exposure and symptoms can include fever, cough, runny nose, and red eyes. Anyone exposed should contact their health provider if symptoms worsen. The best protection against the measles is the MMR vaccine, which provides about 97% protection.
