Barry Manilow, a music icon, has revealed that he was diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 82 and undergoing treatment. This revelation comes in an exclusive PEOPLE cover story. In November, he went to the doctor for an MRI for his pelvis and then for his lungs, after learning that he had recently had two bouts of bronchitis. Tests confirmed his diagnosis and he underwent a lobectomy to remove the diseased part of the lung. Following the successful operation, ManilOW spent seven days in the ICU before being discharged. Despite his health challenges and uncertain future, he remains optimistic about his future in the future.
