The SAVE Act, a bill that requires proof of citizenship to be voted in, is an attempt by President Trump and his supporters to restrict voting accessibility in the U. It is already a crime for noncitizens to vote and only 1,620 convictions were recorded between 1982 and 2025 for some form of voter fraud. The bill also restricts mail-in voting, which many Alaskans rely heavily relies on, and would deprive tens of millions of eligible voters of voting.
