Toyota invests $50M in Arizona proving ground

Toyota has invested $50 million in upgrades to its Arizona proving ground, where the state's weather and terrain make it an ideal location for vehicle testing. The facility, located 60 miles northwest of Phoenix near Wittmann, spans 12,000 acres and includes a new track to test handling, noise, and weather impacts. Many of the tests and car designs at the facility are confidential. The investment includes a high-tech weather stations to measure all aspects of the facility, including handling and speed tests, and a hide shed for low-flying aircraft to hide out. The new $50m investment will allow the facility to continue testing for decades.
