German conservationists make preparations for renewed whale rescue

German conservationists are preparing for a repeat rescue of a humpback whale that has been marooned on sandbanks twice in the Baltic Sea. The whale is currently free but at risk of grounding again. Conservationists plan to use an inflatable dinghy to reach the whale, which is lying a few hundred metres offshore. The state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is also planning to assist.
