The Blackstone Valley co-op hockey team, led by senior Colin Dorgan, won their first state title after a tragic shooting a month ago that killed three of his family members. The team's victory came at Providence’s Amica Mutual Pavilion, with a goal from Jaxon Boyes securing a dramatic 3-2 win. Dorgan had previously scored the game-winning goal in double overtime to secure a win over Portsmouth in the Rhode Island D-II semifinals. His mother, Rhonda Dorgan and brother, Aidan Dorgan were killed when his father, Robert Dogan, opened fire on the family before committing suicide at the scene.
