Girls youth hockey growing in the Triangle with help of Carolina Junior Hurricanes program

Sarah Swingle, the Girls and Women’s Hockey Specialist for the Carolina Hurricanes and Girls Hockey Director at the Carolina Junior Hurricanes, has significantly contributed to the growth of girls youth hockey in North Carolina. Her work includes introducing girls ages 6 to 11 to the Lil Lady Canes program, which focuses on skill development, practices, and games led by an all-female coaching staff. The success of the program is also evident at higher levels, with its 14U, 16U, and 19U AAA teams all winning Southeast District Championships and advancing to the USA Hockey National Championships.
