'We're the best servants anyone could dream of!' AI superintelligence has no need to enslave humans because we're already bowing to it

Biophysicist and philosopher, Stock, has written a new book about the future of AI superintelligence (AGI), "Generation AI," exploring what the future might hold for people born after 2022. The author argues that an advanced AI that can reason as well as humans and learn new skills beyond its initial training could affect humans significantly. While there will likely be plenty of positive developments regarding advanced AI, there have been numerous warnings about its potential impact on humanity, with some suggesting that it could lead to a dystopian scenario where humans were ruled, destroyed, or enslaved by AI within 200 years. Stock suggests that a realistic AI-driven endgame for humanity might actually look like, but acknowledges that there are many other likely pathways to human extinction. He suggests that while AI may be able to control external devices and manipulate humans, it could also lead to conflict with humans.
