Two development concepts at Burke Lakefront Airport are being circulated to help residents imagine what might be possible on the site. The city and the North Coast Waterfront Development Corp. have released a new economic impact study with two scenarios, one of which includes a public golf course. The other includes a lakefront promenade with restaurants, youth sports fields, an indoor athletic complex, hotels, RV camping and trails. The study suggests that transforming the site could generate thousands of construction jobs and generate over $600 million in one-time economic impact, and then over $2.5 million in annual tax revenue.
