As we've aged, we find having guests in our homes making it harder to entertain and feed them for a week or more, and as two seniors on fixed incomes, they struggle to afford meals out and activities. This has led to resentment towards their relatives. Suggestions for a change include limiting the amount of time people come, asking if they can help foot the bill, or leaving the hosting business altogether. A note about the donation can help clarify the difference in how charitable organizations notify someone when a donation is made in their name. Additionally, when attending a celebration, which includes no gifts but donations to the health and life of the honoree, should you include any mention of this donation in a card?
