Southwest Airlines is "refining" its process after receiving complaints about the boarding process and baggage storage. The airline, which previously had open seating and free bags, is now focusing on improving its seating, boarding, and baggage usage. The changes include onboard signs indicating that extra legroom seats are reserved for premium customers. The company is creating "better balanced boarding groups" to speed up boarding and is replacing overhead bins that hold up to 50% more luggage by the end of the year with larger bins. The move comes after the airline announced it would be implemented in 2024.
