Federal money to go toward December Mat-Su windstorm recovery efforts, FEMA says

The state of Alaska will receive federal assistance for the Matanuska-Susitna Borough windstorm that occurred in December, which severely damaged homes and caused power outages across Southcentral Alaska. The funds will be distributed to state, tribal, and local governments on a cost-sharing basis. The federal assistance is intended to assist with recovery efforts.
