Researchers in China have developed plants that glow in the dark due to the combination of fireflies and bioluminescent fungi. Biotechnology company Magicpen Bio's Li Renhan believes these plants could revolutionize urban lighting and could also be used in urban parks without the need for electricity. The technology is already being used in medical and agricultural applications. However, there are concerns about whether these genetically modified plants can still reproduce normally or affect food chains.
