The Clark County School District (CCSD) has targeted school attendance with home visits and resources ahead of the new school year. The district reported that 28% of students in the previous year were chronically absent, defined as missing at least two days each month throughout the entire school year, a figure that is trending down. Approximately 1,600 home visits were conducted this summer, focusing on kindergartners and high school seniors. The visits are intended to educate parents and students about attendance and consequences. The school is also providing backpacks to families of kindergartner during home visits, which were donated by community groups and included information about attendance.
