NASA's Artemis 2 astronauts have taken some incredible photos from their mission to the Moon, which included a translunar injection burn, the first crewed vehicle to depart low-Earth orbit since the Apollo era. The crew observed parts of the lunar far side never before seen with the naked eye and took numerous photos, which will help scientists better understand our home planet and our closest celestial neighbor. During the lunar flyby, the astronauts broke the record for the farthest distance humans have ever traveled from Earth, 248,655 miles (400,171 kilometers) from Earth. The team also witnessed a total solar eclipse that allowed the crew to experience a glowing halo around the lunar disk.
