A leaked memo by CEO Mark Zuckerberg's tech giant, Meta, has revealed its unusual plan to reorganize its remaining staff after laying off hundreds of employees earlier this week. The company, led by Zuckerberg, plans to rebrand some of its employees as “AI builders” and organize them into AI-native “pods,” where they will be divided into groups of individuals working in different specialties. The move comes as Meta continues to reduce its workforce amid increasing investment in artificial intelligence, with the company planning to spend $135 billion on AI initiatives across its Superintelligence Labs and core business. Some employees affected by this change were offered new roles at the company, while others required relocation. The reorganization comes as the company also plans to set goals for how much employees should use AI tools for coding and other tasks.
