The University of Gloucester County, New Jersey, is planning to invest $690 million into a health, manufacturing innovation, and workforce development district in a multi-phase project that will create over 5,000 new jobs and 1,000 residential units. The project will be comprised of two major components, the Rowan University Wellness Village and the Rowanian University Center for Manufacturing Innovation. The Welless Village will be a "living-learning" community with spaces for research, walking trails, and opportunities for therapeutic treatment. The Rowan Center for Manufacturers Innovation will showcase manufacturing innovation and workforce training through health care, higher education, and residential planning. The University's Chancellor Tony Lowman stated that the project is expected to generate around $14.3 million in annual tax revenues, create over 4,170 construction jobs, and bring over 900 permanent jobs to the area.
