Tony-nominated actress who also appeared in popular films dies

Mary Beth Hurt, a Tony-nominated actress who starred in films such as "The World According to Garp" and "Six Degrees of Separation," has died at the age of 79. Her daughter, Molly Schrader, announced her mother's death in a post on social media. Hurt was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2015 and was married to actor William Hurt for 11 years. Her first credited film role was in 1978 in "Interiors".
