Houston Mom Stabbed Her 17-Month-Old Daughter, Then Threw Her from Hotel Balcony

A Houston mother, Channel Yonko, has been convicted of capital murder for fatally stabbing her 17-month-old daughter and throwing her from a hotel balcony in 2024. The killing occurred despite claims from Yonko's defense team that she was legally insane at the time of the killing. The jury deliberated for less than an hour before returning a guilty verdict. Because the victim was younger than 10, Yonko was given an automatic life sentence under Texas law.
