The city of Lyndhurst, Ohio, has implemented a noise ban following a year-long weekly protests outside the Tesla dealership where the demonstrations take place. The action was prompted by complaints from nearby residents that the constant honking was disrupting their weekends. The mayor, Patrick A. Ward, responded by placing seven “Quiet Zone” signs outside the demonstrations to discourage the encouragement of such behavior. The protests have been part of a nationwide pushback against President Donald Trump's return to the White House and have also included criticism of Tesla CEO Elon Musk for supporting the Republican nominee's 2024 campaign and leading Trump's Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, which often resulted in politically motivated budget cuts and depletion of critical services. Despite the tension, the protests have remained largely peaceful despite the tension.
