Her mother, Annie, had Jeanie when she was 16 years old and remained close to her throughout her life. Jeanie struggled with addiction and was unable to care for her two daughters when she told Annie she was seeing a new man, Jonathan Perez, in May 2024. Despite setting up an appointment for Jeanie to attend a rehab facility in Houston, she never made it. San Antonio Police Public Information Officer Camelia Juarez stated that Jeanie was seen leaving the detox center on July 15, 2024. The last known contact with family was a phone call on July 18.
