Drought and dark skies loom for local commercial farmers

Heath Cutrell, a local commercial farmer in Chesapeake, Virginia, is facing a potential drought and dark outlook for his 6,000 acres of commercial corn. He attributes these conditions to rising fuel costs, tariffs, and the war with Iran, which has also contributed to an increase in the price of fertilizer. Despite these concerns, Cutrell maintains that he has no plan B. He sells his commercial corn for $3.50 per bushel, the same price his grandfather paid in the 1970s.
