Surfside-style breakfast, lunch cafe opens on Anastasia Island

A new beach-themed breakfast and lunch cafe, Beach Bagels, has opened on Anastasia Island. The restaurant is the latest concept from Peter and Kristen Kenney, the owners of Purple Olive. The cafe is located in the former space of their upscale eatery, which relocated to the former Gypsy Cab Co. location. It offers a fresh take on breakfast bagels and a sand-and-surf-inspired twist on lunch sandwiches, salads and bowls. The menu includes scratch-made bagels delivered fresh each morning by Village Bread and house-made cream cheese. The Kenneys are 20-plus-year veterans of St. Augustine's diverse restaurant scene.
