The high school hockey season is set to conclude with a packed finals schedule at TD Garden. Twelve teams will compete for their first state title, with five programs aiming to win their first title, five of which are in their finals debut. Six teams are returning to the state finals to avenge state final losses in 2025 or 2024, and four are aiming to join St. John’s Prep and the Duxbury girls as the only programs to win multiple championships in the power rankings era. King Philip, where late King Philip head coach Ken Assad believed in a young group that returned everyone from last year, will be competing against No. 2 Milton (24-1-1) and No. 5 King Philip (23-2-1), for the second consecutive year. Hanover (20-3-2) is seeking its seventh consecutive state final appearance in 12 years.
