More than 300 people have been displaced from their homes in Orange County after a building began showing signs of instability. The Rialto Apartments on Sand Lake Road was deemed unsafe following a 911 call at 5 a.m. The building has been evacuated by Orange County officials, many of whom are uncertain when or if they will be able to return. The last inspection in September revealed no visible structural instability, but officials confirmed a violation that has not yet been re-inspected. The property records show that the building has not been inspected since its construction in 2014 and there were no active code compliance issues prior to the evacuation.
