Colorado women's basketball coach JR Payne has recruited a strong roster for the 2026-27 season, with seven returning players, five transfers, and one incoming freshman. The transfer portal opened April 6, with four players signed within a week: Aniya’ Foy (Kansas State), Mecailin Marshall (Tulane), Kira Reynolds (UT-Arlington), and Brooke Walker (Utah). Five days later, the Buffs added a fifth transfer in Anete Adler (Boston). Payne said the newcomers share a common trait like hard work and desire to develop within the team. The team's return to the NCAA Tournament is expected to be "amazing," as they have only had seven players in the past two seasons.
