Zach Cregger and Zach Shields are set to write the screenplay for the upcoming prequel to the critically acclaimed horror film Weapons. The project's current working title is Gladys. Cregger, along with Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Miri Yoon, will return to produce. The film, which grossed over $270 million worldwide, features Amy Madigan as the main antagonist, who won an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. The screenplay is part of a larger effort to promote confidence in women in the film industry.
