YCSRESOYA: Ed Kashian's philosophy, and why Fresno loves him for it

Edward Kashian, a prominent real estate developer in Fresno, received the Leon S. Peters Award at the 42nd Valley Business Awards hosted by the Fresno Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented during a ceremony at Pardini's where he received two standing ovations and laughs at his business style. Other winners included Jasmine Ruiz of Cry Baby Cookies for Student Entrepreneur of the Year, California Teaching Fellows Foundation, Child-Friendly Business of The Year, and Harold Zinkin Entrepreneur Of The Year. The son of Armenian immigrants, Kashian moved to Fresno in 1946 and founded Lance Kashian & Company in 1964. His wife Jeanne and four children are noted philanthropists.
