Maialen Beloki has been appointed as the next director of the San Sebastián Film Festival, replacing longtime head José Luis Rebordinos who will step down at the end of the year. Beloki, who has been one of the deputy directors of the festival since 2016, will take over the position in January 2027. Her appointment was agreed at a meeting of the Festival's Executive Board, which includes representatives from the San Francisco City Council, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, the Basque Government, and the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
