WS/FCS Board of Education reviews 2024-25 budget audit, weighs new budget and school calendar

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Board of Education (WS/FCS) is meeting to discuss two important topics, including amending the school calendar and considering the proposed budget for the next school year. The board will also hear a presentation on the audit of the 2024-25 fiscal year and consider the superintendent’s proposed budget after a delay in a vote last week. WS/FCC Superintendent Dr. Don Phipps revealed he plans to request an additional 1% in funding compared to last year and is looking to restore educator positions and resources. The Forsyth County Association of Educators and faith leaders are also participating in the discussion.
