A Canadian Coast Guard captain who was accused of ignoring a distress call has lost a Federal Labour Relations Board grievance he filed to protest his dismissal. The incident occurred on May 13, 2024, when a fishing vessel ran aground in Malpeque Harbour. The decision was made by adjudicator Christopher Rootham of the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board.
