The Seagull, a theatre in Pakefield near Lowestoft, Suffolk, has warned that some of its activities may have to stop if it does not raise £30,000 to cover rising bills. The theatre, which operates as a not-for-profit social enterprise, has a monthly electricity bill of between £3,000 and £4,500, while its insurance bills could reach more than £11,000 a year. Manager Karen Read described the cost as "horrendous", but remained committed to delivering services for the local community. The Seagul has launched a fundraising page to help with its finances.
