A 2-year-old wolf that escaped from a South Korean zoo has been returned to its enclosure after a nine-day search. The male wolf, named Neukgu, was found and tranquilized on a hill near an expressway after an extensive search involving authorities, including police, fire officials, and the military. Despite initial concerns about his safety outside the zoo, animal rights activists expressed concern over his survival and potential death during capture. The wolf was found in a stable condition after veterinarians removed a fishing hook from his stomach and found no significant health issues. The zoo, which has been criticized for several animal escapes, has not decided when it will reopen.
