A rally in Vineland, New Jersey, was held against the construction of a 350-megawatt AI data center by DataOne for the Nebius Group, a company developing AI infrastructure as part of a $17 billion deal with Microsoft. The demonstration was led by Bayly Winder, a Democratic candidate running for the U.S. House of Representatives against Republican incumbent Jeff Van Drew. The facility plans to generate 85% of its own energy with natural gas accessed through a pipeline and is seeking approval to house a liquified natural gas tank on site if access to the pipeline is interrupted. Concerns have been raised about the impact on electricity bills, air quality and water usage, which some argue threaten drinking water supplies. The city's mayor and council president have supported the project and approved a tax exemption for the company as part a five-year plan.
