Manager Carlos Mendoza expressed a desire to make "some tough decisions" regarding Benge's position on the Opening Day roster. The team also experienced a setback when Justin Hagenman was placed on the 60-day injured list due to a fractured rib. Despite the injury, MendoZA remains confident in the team's depth, noting that Hagneman's versatility would be sorely missed. Francisco Lindor is recovering from left hamate bone surgery and is expected to return by Opening Day.
