Melrose Breaks Ground On Building New Police Headquarters

City of Melrose, Massachusetts, has begun construction on the former Beebe School on 263 West Foster St. as part of the city's Public Safety Buildings Project, which was approved through a $130 million debt exclusion in 2023. The new police station will be approximately 26,000 square feet and will replace the current facility at 56 West Foster Street. The project includes a lobby with ADA-compliant restrooms, training room, an Emergency Operations Center, fitness centers, and sleeping and storage quarters for overnight officers and staff. The cost of the project is estimated to be $33,883,000.
