SpaceX's Gwynne Shotwell has been in the aerospace industry since 1988 and has been a mechanical engineer at SpaceX, where over 75% of the leadership is male. She believes that the merger of SpaceX and xAI was part of the reason for the merger, as AI is expected to play an increasingly important role at SpaceX. Shotwell's role in the company will change over time, but her focus is to be with Elon Musk and to enhance the use of AI in rocketry R&D. She also discusses her personal experiences with girls considering entering STEM education and entering the aerospace and AI industries. She shares her thoughts on attracting more women to these fields.
