The Unified Fire, which sparked near the Bosque and several homes east of Jarales, remains 0% contained and has burned about 500 acres on both sides of the Rio Grande. The state forestry division is expecting stronger winds over the next few days to feed the fire. Despite lifting evacuations, fire managers have warned that the evacuation could return depending on conditions. The University of New Mexico has approved the construction of automated access gates at four campus entrances and announced a new security change. The first shooting occurred on March 4 involving Sean Martin and Jeremy Muñoz, who have been charged with attempted murder.
