The U.S. has copied the design of Iran's Shahed drones, a one-way or "kamikaze" drone, from drones used by Russia and downed in Ukraine. The United States is now planning to mass produce these cheap drones. The Low-cost Uncrewed Combat Attack System or LUCAS, originally produced by the American military for training purposes, has a production cost of $25,000-$50,000. This comes as America's cost for the Iran war is already exceeding $16 billion. Iran has been supplying Russia with Shahed-136 drones for that country's war against Ukraine. Russia is adapting Shaheds to navigate and target more precisely and withstand electronic warfare jamming, making improvements to the tech.
