US Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL-26) has stated that maximum pressure continues against Cuba, despite the administration's decision to allow a Russian ship with oil to arrive in Cuba. This comes after the administration bypassed its own oil blockade of the island nation following months of island-wide blackouts. Despite this, Diaz-Bart stated that the administration has applied maximum pressure on the Cuban regime and will continue to do so. Since President Donald Trump allowed the Russian boat to enter Cuban waters, he appeared to have eased his rhetoric with this latest oil-filled boat. The White House maintains that its overall policy against Cuba has not changed.
